- #### Don't deep-discharge
Avoid deep-discharging batteries where possible (discharge of max. 45-50% is frost-resistant down to -17°C, fully charged batteries down to -70°C — see the charge indicator)
- #### Reconnect the charger
Reconnect the charger even after short use!
- #### Check regularly
Check distilled water levels regularly and top up batteries after charging (as the acid expands during charging)
- #### Watch the fill level
Watch the fill level! Do NOT overfill batteries! (BFS system)
- #### Charge regularly
Charge batteries at regular intervals during extended vehicle downtime (especially in winter), and first switch off the master switch (under the passenger seat) (Tow/Maintenance)!
- #### Check the charging process
Check the charging process at the start, i.e. confirm that the ammeter on the charger shows a charge, or that the charger switches on!
- #### Battery age
Experience shows: properly maintained and cared-for batteries can be used for at least > 5 years before gradually losing performance.
