Valuable tips for extending battery life
Key Recommendations at a Glance
During the winter months, it's important to take special care of your lithium batteries to ensure they deliver full performance when needed. Whether your electric carts are out of service over winter or simply used less often, here are a few tips on how to extend your lithium battery's lifespan:

- #### Charge fully
If your battery won't be used for an extended period, fully charge it before storage. Disconnect it completely from any chargers and recharge it before next use.
- #### Don't leave it connected
Never leave a battery connected to a charger overnight or for an extended period unattended.
- #### Dry and safe
Lithium batteries should be stored on a dry surface, not carpeted.
- #### Watch the temperature
Lithium batteries should be stored above 10°C.
- #### Never longer than 2 months without charging
Lithium batteries should not be stored for more than 2 months without topping up the charge.
- #### Rotate the fleet
If you have a fleet of carts, make sure the batteries are used in rotation so the load isn't placed on just a few.
- #### Never longer than necessary
Never charge lithium batteries for longer than needed.
- #### Follow safety guidance
